Bwthyn Y Saer
This accessible countryside cottage is situated at the end of a level, tarmacked private farm drive. The cottage forms one side of a rectangular courtyard of estate outbuildings which are situated alongside a beautiful mountain river. It is possible to park directly outside the cottage in an allocated parking space that is within a few feet of the entrance door. The door leads in to the living area which is open plan. Entrance to the cottage is reasonably level, with a very slight ridge (40mm) caused by the stormguard in the doorway. The living area is open plan and consists of a modern fully equipped kitchen on your left and lounge area with seating, HDTV and contemporary wood burning stove on your right. The kitchen area and lounge are separated by a dining table. The surrounding natural beauty is visible through the cottage windows with sheep and cows sometimes being driven along the farm track that runs along one side of the property. To promote accessibility for disabled holidays the cottage is tiled throughout. A corridor runs from the kitchen to the bedroom. A door leads from the corridor into a stunning contemporary wet room that is both stylish and accessible.
It is possible to walk or wheel straight into an open level access rainforest shower at the opposite site of the room, passing the WC and sink on your left. Accessible and stylish, the WC is wall hung at comfort height with a grab rails on both sides. There is also plenty of room for a wheelchair alongside the WC. The wet room flooring is non-slip. The fantastically chic sink is also wall hung with leg room beneath. A height adjustable shower chair is available for use in the wet room if needed. The luxurious wet room is furnished with high end fittings – a Grohe 3000 thermostatic overhead rainforest shower with a secondary wall mounted handset is complemented by stunning concrete effect ceramic wall tiling and non-slip flooring. There are stylish grab rails in the shower area and a beautiful Roman frameless bifold door which can be moved against the wall if so required. The composite stone bathroom sink by Eumar Design is wall hung with plenty of leg room beneath. The taps are lever type and the bathroom mirror features slide lighting. The master bedroom bed is 20 inches high for wheelchair transfer which can be achieved on both sides of the bed.
Nant Y Plas
This charming riverside cottage is separated from Bwthyn Y Saer by a farm lane which leads to the farmyard. The self catering cottage has a wow factor location, sitting directly on the riverbank and looking out onto a pretty cottage garden. A terraced area bordered by glass balustrade allows guests to enjoy unobstructed views of the river below. Look out for wild trout. The terrace is paved with Welsh blue pennant sandstone with a flamed finish which is non-slip and wheelchair friendly A picnic table and chairs make for a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. Guests park on a gently sloping area surfaced with stone chippings alongside the cottage. It is within 5 metres of the entrance door. There is ample room to unload once parked. A short flat sandstone flag pathway leads from the parking space to the front door.
The entrance leads into the kitchen which is open plan. A breakfast bar separates the kitchen area from the lounge. The interior of this waterside holiday cottage is paved with non-slip pennant blue sandstone. Having passed through the kitchen (units on your right, breakfast bar on your left), there is space for a wheelchair to pass around the end of the breakfast bar and into the lounge area where there is a TV and seating. A corridor leads from the kitchen to the master bedroom. The wet room is entered off this corridor and consists of a walk in rainforest shower, comfort height WC with grab rail, wall hung sink and a giant Victorian roll top bath. The frameless shower door folds against the wall to provide more room for turning a wheelchair if required. There is room alongside the WC for transfer. The grab rail is a pull down type to provide extra space if required.
